The tours goes on with a 5 hour rafting on the feeder of the Left Avacha river. This is a calm and interesting route: there are easy rapids, exciting, but not dangerous. Beautiful views open from the raft: volcanoes, basalt rocks and grottoes. Fans of fishing can challenge themselves in loach fishing.

Tour program

Meeting of participants

We meet at the appointed place and drive to the start point of the route — to the horse-riding base "Taiga" situated 30 km away from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. For an additional fee we can arrange transfer from the hotel, ask for details when booking the tour.

Arrival at the horse-riding base “Taiga”
Horse ride to the camp by the Avacha river

First we meet our horses, undergo safety briefing and start for the camp by the Avacha river. We pass through a beautiful relict forest, a thicket of dog-roses and fern, admire volcanoes towering in the distance. Then we stop by the Rattling Canal for watering. The ride is easy, it lasts for 2–3 hour and is suitable even for beginners.

Dinner in the camp
Start of rafting

Cooks will make dinner by our arrival. We eat, have some rest and undergo briefing. Rafting goes by special inflatable boats of higher stability and mobility.

Setting off downstream! We pass several minor rapids and continue on a calm part of the river. During the route we admire Kamchatka’s scenery: mountains covered with flowers and creeping cedar, black and red rocks, the depth of the forest with willows, poplars, bird-cherry trees and rowans. The birds nest in the forest, seagulls and swifts swish over the river, and close to the shore duck broods are floating. Sometimes bears go out to the river: to fish and to show people to their cubs.

Fishing, light snacks

We make a stop at the confluence of two inflows: the Left and Middle Avacha. We provide gear to those who’d like to fish for char. Relax and drink tea with sandwiches. If we get hungry, we’ll make ukha, a fish soup, from fresh fish.

Rafting continues

We overcome the last part of the route and finish by Ketkinsky Bridge, where our car waits for us to take us back to the city.
