The Valley of Geysers is one of the largest geyser fields in the world. The valley is located in the Kronotsky reserve in the valley of the river Geyser. About 20 large geysers, pulsating springs, outputs of thermal springs, mudpots and warm lakes are located on a small area of ​​6 km2.

Not far from the Valley of Geysers the caldera of Uzon volcano is located. This is a huge basin measuring 12 km across, framed by steep walls with the height of 200-800 m.

Arriving at the Valley of Geysers

During the hour and a half tour we observe the eruption of geysers, look at boiling springs, steam jets, mudpots and muddy volcanoes. We come to the main attraction of the valley — the Big geyser. Its height reaches 12 meters of the fountain, and the observation deck is so close that you can be wrapped in a cloud of steam. Enjoy the famous view of the valley — the geyser wall “Stained Glass”.

The caldera is a cavity, which was formed by volcanic activity 40,000 years ago. The volcano erupted, dwindled, the walls collapsed by powerful explosions and rocks over the volcano center subsided. During a hour hike around the thermal field, we look at the sulfuric lake Bannoye, Chloride lake with sulfuric beach, mudpots and water pools, springs with the colonies of thermophilic algae. Admire unearthly landscapes.
