We meet at the appointed place with the rest of the group and drive to Termalni Settlement where we change to snowmobiles.

The Paratunka River originates from foothills of Volcano Vilyuchinsky, flows not far from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Yelizovo and Vilyuchinsk and flows into Avacha Bay of the Pacific Ocean. Its length is 81 km, basin’s square is 1500 km2. The river is shallow and rapid with lots of inflows. Salmons mikizha and East Siberian char spawn here.
The Paratunka attracts fishermen with various fishing objects: on different spots and in inflows of the river one can catch up to 10 species of loach, smelt, umber, herring and silver salmon.

Transfer to the fishing spot
We transfer to the fishing spot, the Paratunka River or one of its numerous inflows, by snowmobiles. Depending on the remoteness of the spot travel time may take from 30 minutes to 1,5 hours.

Lunch
We choose a place with better biting, drill a hole and start fishing. While we are waiting for fish we can warm up with hot tea and listen to our guide’s stories about Kamchatka and local traditions.
Ice fishing is a challenge that requires patience and endurance. Though winter in Kamchatka is not very frosty, but there are days when the temperature drops down to 30 ℃ below zero.
After 3 hours of fishing we’ll have hot meal for lunch and continue fishing.

Return to Termalni Settlement
Transfer to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky
While it hasn’t got dark yet, we collect our catch and ride to car park by snowmobiles, from where we get back to the city. We’ll arrive in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky by 7 p.m.
