Tumrokskiye Hot Springs
Kizimen Volcano
We go by snowmobile to the Tumrok hot springs, located 35 km from Kipelykh. We are accommodated in the Tumrok tourist shelter, have a rest and go on a snowmobile excursion to the Kizimen volcano.
Kizimen is an active volcano with a height of 2375 m. The last eruption began in 2013 and continues to this day! When approaching the volcano, one can feel tremors, roar and the smell of sulfur, and a column of ash stands above the crater. Now it’s not as dangerous to be near the volcano as at the beginning of the eruption, when lava flows were going down the slope.
There we’ll watch the activity of the volcano, take pictures and then return to the hot springs. We’ll bathe, have dinner and spend the night in tourist huts.
Tumrokskiye hot springs are located at the western foot of the Kizimen volcano. They are 4 large and several small gryphons with a temperature of 42–52 °С. The water is considered therapeutic: it contains boron, arsenic, silicon and manganese. The springs are equipped: there are wooden paths and baths, and changing rooms. There are drinking mineral water outlets nearby.
